1. Doesn’t honor the Volunteers Time. Be ready for the volunteer, maximizing the benefit for the group and individual.
2. Work Isn’t Challenging. Apparently smart people become dumb when they become volunteers because organizations tend to give them jobs well below their capability. People love to be challenged, even in their volunteer work.
3. Doesn’t honor Volunteers Gifts/Talents. Regular volunteers should be challenged to know their gifts, strengths and talents and to use them for the cause.
4. Doesn’t challenge the Volunteer to progress into a donor. People who love what you do should be asked to contribute.
5. Doesn’t Capture Critical Information. If volunteers are important, shouldn’t we know who they are and how to contact them?
