Every morning I look at the list of activities, calls, projects that I need to attack during the day. The list was usually create the night before, with me writing down the stuff I know is important so I don’t forget it.
Journaling is also a great habit which I have promoted, and I often find writing down the challenges and victories of my day and all that has happened to be therapeutic.
However, there comes a point in recovery, or in any part of personal and spiritual growth, when you need to try to forget. After you process, learn, apply your learning, is there any point is continuing to focus on old pains, disappointments and hurts? If God chooses to forget our sins, does it make sense for us to continue to drag them up?
Seek to know when your processing of the past has become a pointless replay of pain. Are you keeping the pain alive or dealing with it so it can heal? Are you seeking healing or attention? Understanding or an excuse?
Share your thoughts, How do we know when replaying past hurts has become unproductive?
